Featuring the "Grand Strand's Most Stylish"

On July 30 a fashion show featuring the Grand Strand's most stylish was held at The Market Common. Hosted by Grand Strand Magazine and The Market Common, this newcomer on the South Carolina fashion show scene raised funds for Hope House, an organization that provides assistance to homeless teens who are seeking their high school diplomas.

As a new resident of The Market Common, the last thing I need is more encouragement to get into the shops around here.  But I confess that there is something extra inspiring about seeing all the gorgeous clothes, shoes, and accessories put together perfectly and worn by such fashionable ladies and gentlemen.

And of course as a photographer interested in shooting fashion, I couldn't resist the opportunity to document it (see full photo gallery here). Shooting a fashion show apparently has its challenges. No matter how perfect your lighting is, it's fast moving, and easy to get a lot of bad shots.

Figuring out the best angles for showing off the head to toe looks is key, along with extra emphasis on timing - figuring out where in stride or pose is the best. Definitely a learning experience I look forward to doing again!

This first annual event was organized to perfection by Bree Moore of Grand Strand Magazine (and former "most stylish") and local event planner, Santana Leroy. I hope this "first annual"  phrase means the fashion show will be back next year.

It may just have been the hottest evening of the year in Myrtle Beach. Yet the super chic models seemed to effortlessly strut the runway wearing the latest fashions.

Apparently The Grand Strand’s most stylish don’t sweat, they glow.

Now come on over to The Market Common and get shopping!

Here's the scoop on the second annual fashion show that is happening September 9, 2017

Now isn't it your turn to be photographed in  your own fashion inspired shoot?
